The Unguided in the Album “And the Battle Royale” starts with a heavy lines and ends with one. This band has come from Sweden with melodic, smashing hooklines that set up the remaining album for some great melodies and vocals that both emphasize and support the thrilling guitar lines. Though this sub-genre of Metal is generally not my “cup of tea”, I found my post-punk ears perking up to the subtle electronic and garage influences that are slipped between the power metal chords and the death metal singing that ups the energy of the entire album.
